Town were denied a first win of the season - and their first victory over Norwich City since 2009 continued as it ended all square in the East Anglian Derby.
The blues took a second-half lead when a deflected Gwion Edwards shot wrong-footed Canaries keeper Tim Krul and found the net.
But the visitors leveled on the 71st minute when Moritz Leithner guided a shot into the corner from outside the box .
Neither side was able to find a winner and it is now the third time in the last four meetings this fixture has been drawn 1-1, with the point lifting the Blues off the bottom of the Championship.
