Ipswich Town have confirmed that Peterborough United winger Gwion Edwards has joined the club for a fee of around £700,000.
The news comes after the Welshman who has been a fan favourite at Posh ever since he arrived two years ago, stated to the club that he wished to make a move up into Championship football.
Much to the disappointment of United fans , speculation about a potential move to Town started to arise throughout last week and even Hurst was questioned about the supposed bid being accepted.
The new Town boss said last week that he was a 'fan' of the winger but remained 'tight lipped' until any deal was finalised.
Edwards who wore the number 7 shirt for Peterborough is an agile, creative, attacking minded player who looks to create rather than score.
Although he doesn't rank the highest in goals or assists, his pace and dribbling ability allows for chances to be created, whether they are directly from him or not.
Being rated highly by many United fans, his arrival should be one welcomed by the supporters as Town are seemingly buying who they are targeting rather than cheap alternatives.
Along with Edwards and Chabolah, Town's squad is filling out nicely with a Webster replacement being the only thing essential to this new era at the club.
