On this day in 1996, Town beat Reading 5-2 at Portman Road
Tony Vaughan opened the scoring for the Blues in the 13th minute but the visitors were level 15 minutes later by Lee Nogan.
However the Royals’ Bobby Mikhailov was sent off, resulting in a penalty for Town, which Steve Sedgley netted.
The visitors may have been a man down, but Barry Hunter equalised in the 62nd minute, before Vaughan adding his second seven minutes later as the Blues went into cruise control.
Mauricio Taricco added a fourth and James Scowcroft finished the scoring late on as Town won their first home game of the 1996-97 campaign.
